About Dekaia
Rooted in Mauritius, grown with patience
Dekaia began as a quiet obsession with tropical leaves, the humidity off the mountains, and the way a well-tended plant softens a room. Today we are a small team of growers and curators who hand-select indoor companions for homes and studios around the island.
We do not chase volume. When a plant leaves our care it has already been observed, watered on a human schedule, and acclimated to living beside you — not flattened by a logistics sprint.

How we tend the work
The brand guide called it unhurried and intentional. That is the filter for sourcing, packing, and every conversation with a customer.
01
Quality before scale
We favour resilient specimens from growers we know. If a tray looks tired, it never reaches the floor.
02
Care you can repeat
Each plant ships with notes written in plain language, not mystifying shorthand. We want you to understand the ritual, not fear it.
03
Routes that respect heat
Mauritius sun is part of the story. Deliveries are batched so plants are not idling on hot pavements.
04
When something struggles
Reach out with photos. We troubleshoot like growers: light angle, soil breath, watering rhythm.

From greenhouse mornings to your sill
The early days were early mornings, mist on leaves, and friends asking for cuttings. Word travelled quietly — the sort of trust that only forms when plants stay alive.
We now split time between production benches and the shop floor in Port Louis, weaving together the studio aesthetic from our brand handbook: warm wood, matte greens, brass details where light can catch.
Certified horticulturists still walk every batch. If a leaf signals stress, it is triaged before it ever meets a shopping bag. That is the promise behind Rooted in nature. Curated with care.
